As a small business, we get many resumes across our desk, and it is unbelievable how some people write a resume! How to write a resume to appeal to the person hiring does not take rocket science, and yet we get all kinds. Here are 3 ways to write a resume and not get the job:
1. Fold the resume into a tiny square, and then throw it on the desk.
2. Give out a resume that looks like you used it as a coaster for this mornings coffee.
3. Write a book about everything you have ever done since you were 5 years old!
The above have actually come across the desk. Resume writing, should be your calling card. It should be one page, and let me know quickly what you can do, where you did it before, any training, and a bit about yourself. This resume will help me decide who to interview. It does not have to be typed on expensive paper, just plain white CLEAN paper, and simple.
